As your soap shrinks, so does the alpaca coat, until you have a small empty felted alpaca pad. The natural fibre is antibacterial, so doesn't get moldy, and keeps shrinking as your soap shrinks.
We think that's pretty cool.
We get our alpaca fibre from Wendy Russell at the Coroglen Alpacas, situated on the main road in Coroglen. Her studio is open most days, where you can buy knitted garments and also alpaca fibre.
